Today I watched Helvetica with the class, the movie/documentary talked about the emergence of the Helvetica typeface around the 1950s, bringing with it a golden age of typography. The Helvetica font is a very neutral font and for that reason was perfectly suited for anything and anywhere, it is clean and highly legible the font is seen almost everywhere, from street signs to subways.

This Movie/Documentary has helped me understand the importance of Typography and why Helvetica is such a good font to use for many purposes, such as it’s ease of legibility, simplicity and detail. Helvetica back then was such a perfectly made font that it was difficult for any other fonts to compete even to this day, Helvetica is used in abundance.
